Sunset Island Music truly wants every band out there to be successful, so we will continue to offer our advise to you.
So what can you do to market your band at low cost? Here are 4 proven, old school methods to help get your band off the ground without spending a fortune.....
1) If you don't have a business card and business stationery, have them made up -- immediately. Your business card tells the world that you are a professional who takes your business seriously. Include your bands website so they feel that they know your music well.....
2) Get your business card into as many hands as possible. Call your friends and relatives and tell them you are in a band. Visit them and leave a small stack of business cards to hand out to their friends. Have business cards in a pocket where they are easily reachable. Every time you start to say "My name is," reach in your pocket for a business card.....
3) Talk to all the venues and clubs from whom you wish to friend. Give them your business card, and ask if they can use your band, or if they know anyone who can. Ask if your business card can be added to their board......
4) Contact nonprofit organizations. Tell the charities that you wish to help them out and that you will play at their charitable event for free. Also ask them to put your card on their board and in their bulletin

One has to start somewhere that's for sure but I would imagine a start by competing and selfpromoting in social networks where fans live ;))
Does it work? (If to be honest...) ;)
Agree that doing charity events is a good way to get your face known, not sure if the business cards work..flyers with free downloads, facebook etc seem to get some reaction ..i suppose it depends on the age, location of the fanbase as well but wtf we're prepared to try it all!
