Trapkey started out in the late spring of 2010 as a four piece classic rock cover band, which included Austin Davis (Guitar), Manny Figueroa (Vocals), Shannon Bingham (Bass), and a drummer. In October 2010 after being an original band for only half a year, the band landed a great opportunity to open for a recently signed and touring band, “Taking Dawn.” The show was a huge success. Trapkey started plans for writing more originals. Unfortunately, due to schedule conflicts, the drummer had to be replaced. After auditioning many drummers, Trapkey decided on Jack Burton in Mid-January, as the new drummer. The band then agreed on getting a rhythm guitarist to fill the sound and expand on writing new songs. Austin called an old high school friend, Terry Thongsaly who agreed to join Trapkey, but later resigned. Now, with the final lineup of musicians the band plays shows at various venues while continuing to compose new music. Trapkey’s ultimate goal is to tour Cross County bringing their unique style of music to the masses.
